"Deaf focused" Mission trip to Haiti, April 1-8, 2019
Hello, I'm Julie Lawson and I'm helping organize a team to travel to Haiti in April, 2019.
I have been working as an educational interpreter for 36 years, as well as some VRS and community interpreting. In addition to my professional life, I am married and have two children. I love to travel and look forward to doing more of that in my retirement years. I found a passion for baking cakes and that is how I have raised most of the money for my past and future mission trips. (Please visit my Baking for Haiti Facebook page if you're curious). For several years, I had felt the "tug" to do mission work, but always had a reason I "couldn't" do it...too busy, too broke, not spiritual enough, fear, etc...About two years ago, I *finally* made the decision to travel to Haiti and follow the call. From the moment I began planning, I knew that I had made the right decision and once there, God confirmed it over and over again. I will be traveling to Haiti soon to serve at the Haiti Deaf Academy for six days. I was fortunate to spend several hours there last summer and knew immediately that I wanted to do mission work there. I cannot wait to be there and love on those precious children! And now I am organizing this trip and would love for you to come along! I currently have about five people who are committed to joining this team. I believe we can have up to 17 and would LOVE to share with you about this trip. Please add your email address via the link so we can talk!
